Basic Rifle


Course Overview

Basic Rifle Training is designed for first time gun owners that want to learn how to safely operate, shoot, and clean their AR Platform or Carbine. At the end of the course, each student will receive an LRRAT Basic Rifle Certificate. This course will cover the following:

  • Firearms Safety and Rules

  • Identifying different styles of rifles

    • Semiautomatic

      • Carbine

      • AR platform

    • Proper loading techniques

      • How to load the magazines

      • How to chamber rounds in a safe direction

    • Proper grip f

    • Sight Picture

      • Co-Witness of optics

    • Trigger Control

    • Understanding and clearing malfunctions.

    • Basis Rifle Certification Course

Equipment needed for course:

  • A quality rifle

  • AR platform

  • Carbine

  • 150 rounds of FACTORY LOADED No reloads allowed.

  • Proper PPEHearing protection

  • Electronic preferred but not required

  • Eye protection

  • Long pants

  • Close toe shoes

  • Ball caps or Boonie Caps

  • Sun screen

  • Bug spray

  • Bottled water or Gatorade

  • A cooler with ice will be on the range for everyone to use.

  • Snacks

  • Folding or camping chairs are highly recommended.

  • Gun Cleaning Kit

  • Note pad and pen

Time: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM, scheduled class day
